The Beginning

Jennifer and Marley

Jennifer and Marley

The Grateful Dog founder, Jennifer Topalian, grew up with dogs her whole life. As a little girl, Jennifer felt a deep connection with dogs. At age 22, she moved into her own home and adopted a chocolate Lab named Marley. In 2009, Jennifer adopted Rascal and chose to use positive reinforcement, a non-forceful way of training in order to have an effective yet loving relationship with her dog. To her amazement, the outcome was a huge success, and so much so, she decided to use this training to teach people and their dogs. This training takes lots of hard work, yet, was so rewarding. Fall of 2013, Jennifer started a dog walking business and began puppy training service dogs...2015 The Grateful Dog was created and has been on a long strange trip ever since. Jennifer lives at home in the Cleveland area with her husband, children, and 3 dogs.

“Once in a while, you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.”
